Because diamonds are so valuable, it’s essential to have a universal grading system for comparing their quality. When you are planning on purchasing a diamond it is important that you know as much as possible about how diamonds are classified. In the 1940's and 1950's the Gemological Institute of America developed the 4C's and the GIA International Diamond Grading System to objectively compare and evaluate diamonds.
At Tara Fine Jewelry Co. every solitaire 1/2 carat and larger has been certified by one of the four independent accredited gemological laboratories, The Gemological Institute of America, Forevermark Diamond Institute, American Gem Society, or the European Gemological Laboratory.
Tara Fine Jewelry Co. evaluates the diamonds we sell in two overall ways: QUALITY, as defined by the 4C's, and BEAUTY, which involves going beyond technical grading to discover diamonds that have exceptional fire, life and brilliance. The four most relevant factors used to measure the rarity of a diamond are Cut, Color, Carat Weight and Clarity.
